We are all aware of Shahrukh Khan’s poetic streak. He’s been literally writing poetry on twitter ever since he visited Kashmir for the last schedule shoot of Jab Tak Hai Jaan (we are talking about Yash Chopra’s next here, which just got its name). Ever since it was revealed that Jab Tak Hai Jaan was taken from a poem written by Aditya Chopra for the movie (and not from the famous Sholay song ‘Haan Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ featuring Hema Malini), people went crazy about the beautifully written poem and its highly romantic lines (we initially thought it was a work of the lyricist Gulzar saab). Many translations followed since many of the Shahrukh Khan’s global fans don’t speak Hindi. Even Shahrukh Khan promised that he would write his own version of the poem – and he just did! Well, being someone with an acute poetic sense, Shahrukh Khan rewrote it twice in his own words, keeping the meaning intact. Well, an all new English poem in both cases we would say! Check out the actual Hindi poem and Shahrukh Khan’s English versions below!
