Eid Ul Adha Kaleji Tikka Recipe 2012Ingredients

Liver-1 pound, small pieces
Lemon juice-4 tablespoons
Onion-1 small, ground
Garlic-4 cloves, ground
Green ginger -1 (1-inch), ground
Green coriander -1 tablespoon, ground
Salt -2 teaspoons or to taste
Garam masala-1/2 teaspoon
Red chili powder-1/2 teaspoon
Ghee-1/4 cup
Black pepper-1/2 teaspoon, freshly milled

Directions

GETTING READY
1)Using a fork prick liver pieces and then brush them with lemon juice. Keep aside some juice for later.
2)In a blender, grind onion, garlic, ginger and coriander along with salt, garam masala and chilli powder.
3)Apply this paste on the liver pieces and leave them to marinate for 20 minutes.
4)Take a griddle, grease it and heat it on high.

MAKING
5)Place the liver pices on it and cook for about 10 minutes.
6)Add some ghee from the sides and turn over the liver.
7)Repeat this process couple more times, basting the liver pieces with ghee each time.

SERVING
8)Serve hot, garnished with onion rings, tomato slices and sprinkled with the remaining lemon juice and black pepper powder.
