Ingredients:

  • Finger Fish: 1/2 kg
  • Oil: for frying

For Fish Marinating:

  • Fish: 1/2 kg
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon (as per taste)
  • Crushed Red Pepper: 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Chaat Masala: 2 tablespoons
  • Carom Seeds (crushed): 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin Seeds (crushed): 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander Seeds (crushed): 1 tablespoon
  • Vinegar: 3 tablespoons
  • Crushed Green Chili: 2 to 3 pcs

Marinating:

Add vinegar, salt, crushed red chilli, turmeric powder, chaat masala, carom seeds, crushed cumin and crushed green chilli together into a bowl and prepare a paste. Marinate fish in the mixture well and store in the refrigerator for half hour.

Mixture Ingredients:

  • All Purpose Flour: 1 cup
  • Corn Flour: 1 tablespoon
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon / as per taste
  • Crushed Red Chili: 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Chaat Masala: 1 tablespoon
  • Crushed White Cumin: 1 teaspoon
  • Crushed Coriander: 1 teaspoon
  • Water: as required

Preparation of Mixture:

Mix all purpose flour and corn flour in a bowl and add salt, crushed red chilli, turmeric powder, crushed coriander, chaat masala and crushed cumin seeds and make a thick mixture of water.

For Frying Fish:

  • Oil: for frying
  • Marinated Fish
  • Thick Spice Mixture
  • Chaat Masala (for sprinkling upon fried fish)
  • Dry All Purpose Flour: 1/2 cup
Method for Frying Fish

First roll fish in dry all-purpose flour and then in the thick paste for spices. Then deep fry in hot oil.
When one side is fully fried, revert fish to fry the other side.
When fried well, remove from pan and sprinkle chaat masala.
Delicious Lahore Fry Fish is ready.
