Ali Xeeshan Theater Studio’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection for PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week is titled ‘Jalsa-e-Ishq’. For this collection, Ali draws inspiration from the “aura of a political situation” as he describes. The collection is based in as array of sheer nets and solemn organzas in cultured pearls and filigree embellishment. Based entirely in shades of white, the collection also includes menswear pieces. Key collection trends being highlighted are the contrast of sheer & opaque, monochrome stripes, batwings, metallic and high waist lowers.
Ali Xeeshan is a graduate of the Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design (PIFD) and holds an honors degree in Couture and an award for the Best Collection at the institute. He takes inspiration from within the Pakistani culture which the designer feels is still an untapped reserve of creativity. While predominantly a couturier focusing on formal and bridal wear, Ali has also diversified into a diffusion prêt-à-porter line, a formal collection for men and a complete range of accessories. Ali’s signature style can be found in his use of unusual shades of colour and high end luxurious fabrics merged with unconventional embellishment techniques in both traditional and contemporary cuts. He has also received an award of “Excellence in Fashion” from “Ministry of Production” in Islamabad. This 2013, Ali will be showcasing his Spring/Summer 2013 collection at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week titled ‘Jalsa-e-Ishq’.
