Akshay Kumar will be playing the part of the Mumbai underworld’s most notorious don, Dawood Ibrahim. The movie, a sequel to Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, will be directed by Milan Luthria, and will take the audience through the life and times of Ibrahim.
Ibrahim is one of India’s most wanted men.
The first Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, also directed by Luthria, was a drama about the rise of another don, Haji Mastan. The sequel is expected to be more of an action film – a genre that Akshay Kumar is more than familiar with.
“Talks are on to finalise the second lead. The second character will be playing his rival and will have several high-octane action scenes,” said a source. An announcement about this is expected in the coming days, according to local media reports.
“The delay is being attributed to money negotiations between (producer) Ekta Kapoor and Akshay Kumar,” reported a local newspaper.
