Bollywood’s popular “Dhoom” film franchise has signed on Aamir Khan to play the villain’s role in the upcoming Dhoom 3
The Indian media has confirmed that Aamir Khan will be playing the villain’s role in Dhoom 3, due for release next year. Abiskek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will resume their roles as the two protagonists, Jai and Ali.
The movie will be under the Yash Raj Films banner; big behind-the-scenes names such as Vijay Krishna Acharya and Aditya Chopra are also on board. Aamir Khan commented, “It is indeed a pleasure to be working with Yashji and Adi again. Dhoom is a great franchise, most entertaining and full of fun.”
Khan added, “Everytime I hear the theme tune of Dhoom it brings a swing to my step. Victor’s script really won me over and I look forward to working with him.”
Filming will start later this year. Yash Chopra also expressed his happiness about Aamir Khan joining the Dhoom team, saying, “It’s a great pleasure to have Aamir working with our banner. I am terribly excited with what an actor like Aamir can bring to the Dhoom franchise with his unique star power and level of performance. Adi and Victor have worked over a year to bring out, what I can now confidently say, is possibly one of the best scripts coming out of our production house.”
